The main unit comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball installed. A 2" ball is available for smaller trailers.
The total weight of the 3P hitch is 195 lbs. This is approximately 75-100 lbs more than most conventional hitches so that is the difference you will see in hitch weight.
To figure the model you will need you should estimate your loaded HITCH weight. Tongue weight is not hitch weight. Tongue weight is the force the trailer applies to the hitch ball. Hitch weight is the tongue weight plus the weight of your equipment. It does not hurt anything to pick the 3P model that exceeds your estimated hitch weight as most dry tongue weights are heavier than listed by manufacturers and the higher 3P model will give you more top end capacity in your weight distribution.
The number on each 3P model indicates the weight distribution capacity of each model. For example, a 3P-1000 can adequately distribute UP TO 1000 pounds of loaded hitch weight.

Install this on a full-size range rover towing a 28 foot trailer. Used it on a three month excursion. I’m 100% confident that if we did not have this product we would’ve rolled our car at least at least one occasion. It’s an absolute lifesaver and worth every penny. Beyond that it makes the road much less stressful and gives you additional confidence while driving.
It’s a super high-quality product that is exceptionally well-built. Well packaged for shipping and comes with required tools. Customer service is absolutely top-notch. Some of the best I’ve ever received.
Well not a reason not to get this just be aware that this is not a couple of hours to install. It took us at least a full day and then another day or more to troubleshoot.

Example: I had a question while installing on a Saturday afternoon my driveway not being level and the instructions requiring a level install service. I left a message and had a call back within 20 minutes. From Brent the general manager informing me that the trailer just needed to be parallel with The driveway and the truck.I was expecting a callback but no way was I expecting that call to come from Brent.
I was able to install the hitch on my 7,500lb travel trailer without incident. The hitch made a huge difference in the towing of the vehicle virtually no sway and a rock stable tow. Almost as if it was a fifth-wheel.
My tow vehicle is a 2017 Ford Expedition and with the Propride 3P hitch installed I was able to evenly distribute the weight over the two Expeditions axles. It took several trips through the weigh station to get my adjustments fine-tuned but then I was able to mark them on the torsion bar jacks allowing me to repeat it as needed.
No other weight distribution hitch that I know of allows you to fine-tune those adjustments as you can with the Propride.
While I was making the adjustments, at a truck stop, one of the truckers who was refueling his truck noted that he had never seen a hitch that would allow you to fine-tune the axle weights as you could with this hitch. He said he'd been towing for 40 years and the importance of evenly distributing the weight over the tow vehicle cannot be overstated and yet so few hitches allow that adjustment. Most weight distribution hitches make a fixed Weight distribution and treat all trailers as if they weighed the same.

We needed to be able to safely pull a Freedom Express 27RKDS (30' LOA, 6200# dry, 7500 loaded) trailer with a 2020 Ford Expedition. With the relatively short wheelbase we were concerned about potential sway issues. Installed the ProPride, and took our first trip with it. WOW. An 8 hour trip from Sacramento to Oregon, 6% up and down grades. Tons of trucks. How good was the experience? We didn't miss towing with our F250 and an "old fashioned" WD hitch. Our rig was rock solid. Even 30 kt cross winds in the high desert outside of Weed, Ca were effortless. I've trailered with different vehicles for 45+ years now. I've never experienced anything this solid that wasn't a 5th wheel.
