    Everything It's Claimed To Be

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge the customer service from ProPride. They answered all my questions ahead of time, and made sure to have my hitch delivered to me with enough time to install it and test before a scheduled trip. Their lead time put delivery past our departure date, but they got it done regardless.

Tow Vehicle: 2017 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali
Tow Trailer: 2010 bumper pull camper, 42' OAL, 10.8k lb dry weight
Product: ProPride 3P 1400 with the 2.5" shank

Install was pretty straight forward, but would have been considerably more difficult if YouTube wasn't a thing. Some of the written instructions weren't overly clear until we watched an installation video. It took us about 2.5 hours start to finish, including unpacking everything.

Packaging was superb. Nothing shifted around and the boxes were packed according to the part of the install you are working on. I greatly appreciated that.

Setting up the hitch is easy as long as you take the time to get all the measurements and write them down in the book for reference later. I use my driver's side rear fender height every time I unhook to make sure I'm coming straight out of the hitch when I unhook. I'm still messing with the WD jacks to find the right setting for pulling our camper. Driving north 300 miles this past weekend was fine for bounce, but coming home it felt much more bouncy. I'll keep fine tuning as I go, but if the little bit of bounce is all I need to figure out then I'm very pleased.

The anti sway of this hitch is everything that has been claimed. Prior to this hitch I was using a normal WD hitch with a friction bar anti sway device. I didn't have any problems with the loading, but the anti-sway may as well not even have been attached. I wasn't able to get over 55mph without the tail wagging the dog excessively; so bad that my wife called from our second vehicle and asked me to stop for a while because of how bad it was swaying. Semis going by would force me off the road from the bow wave, then the vacuum would pull the rear of the camper back on the road before the front of the semi had made it past the tow vehicle. Unpleasant just doesn't quite describe that experience.

The ProPride system all but eliminated the sway. I could feel the trailer trying to move around, but was pulled back into place each time it tried. I was able to set the cruise to 65mph on the expressway and drove with no issues, even in windy conditions.

My only complaint, and it isn't worth removing a star for, is that one of the snap ring pins that were sent was defective. The snap ring was rusted inside the pin and wouldn't allow the ring to stay attached once you "unsnapped" it. It was very frustrating. I had a similar pin at home and used that for this trip instead.

Overall, the hitch was worth every penny I paid for it. Adding up the money spent on tow vehicle and trailer, having a reliable hitch system that will allow me to enjoy getting to and from my destination makes a lot of sense.

I would recommend this hitch to anyone who pulls a trailer.

    Best hitch money can buy

We bought a 2020 Jayco 284BHOK earlier this year which is a large and heavy travel trailer. Moreover, it tall as we optioned it with 16” tires. We tow with a 2020 GMC SRW 1 ton. After a miserable trip in June from AZ to Colorado where I experienced some of the worst sway I have ever dealt with I immediately went to ProPride. Installation was a breeze...watched a few videos and took my time with no problems. We just made the same trip and it was the best towing experience I’ve ever had. It was amazing see tractor trailers experience some decent wind and it did not even phase our setup. I’ve read others comments that indicate the ProPride was worth every penny and I couldn’t agree more. Thanks for delivering a great product to RV consumers with phenomenal customer service!

    3P Sway Control Hitch

Wow! Wish I had put this on years ago as soon as I purchased my trailer. Installation was not complicated and instructions are spot on.
After first test drive all sway was eliminated and the trailer tracked behind my truck like they were one.
    Two Thumbs Up!

Amazing engineering. Makes towing "not a big deal". Should be a safety requirement for trailers as far as I am concerned.

Can’t believe how much better towing is! No more white knuckle days! Hooking up and disconnecting is so easy and quick! No regrets at all!

    Night and Day

I had the SwayPro hitch, but my Grand Design 2800BH still had scary sway. I just drove from South Florida to South Carolina with the 3P, and it was sooo much better.

    Worth Every Penny

Recently purchased ProPride 3P with 1400# bars. 32’ 8000# travel trailer towed with an F150 and had no issues at all.

    Tows like a 5th wheel

I don't have a comparison of towing a trailer to gauge what it's like not using this hitch except the time I drove to Minnesota from Rhode Island with some friends, and we took the 5th wheel. I bought my 32 ft travel trailer from a dealer in Vermont and had to drive it back to Rhode Island as my first big trip. It felt like I was pulling that 5th wheel. It's safe to say I don't ever want to know what it would be like without it. This will add to the safety and confidence for my upcoming cross country trip for the military. The installation does take some time, but if you can follow directions, you can install this hitch. The customer service was beneficial, as I emailed 11 times prior to purchasing, asking multiple questions, and each email was answered promptly and thoroughly. I even had no issues backing up to park my trailer into a spot that had very sharp turns.
