  • It Works!!

Since owning our 25' Airstream trailer we have put about 12000 miles on it - the first 8300 miles with a "common" weight distribution hitch and the rest with a ProPride 3P. We decided to spend the money as we really like our very light F150 truck but didn't like the tension we felt driving with lots of semis or cross winds (or both) and the sway we had to always be ready to compensate for. After switching to the ProPride hitch we find ourselves driving with a light touch on the wheel even in a herd of semis with a cross wind. We barely can feel most semis and a cross wind feels just like the truck is in the wind but not towing. The description folks give of the truck and trailer feeling like a single unit has proven very accurate. We have decided that the money was well spent. The only downside is that we still have some learning to do about connecting the hitch on uneven ground but that will come.

  • P3 Hitch

At this point I am satisfied with the P3 hitch. Installation was very strait forward and easy. Pulled my RV approximately 200 miles with wind gust reaching 35-40 MPH. I felt like I was in control the entire trip. I also weighed my axels to verify my set up. Front axel was just over 4k, rear axel was just at 5k, and tandems on the trailer were 10.5k. This tells me that my set up with the hitch is good. I would recommend this hitch, especially in situations where you are pulling a large rv like mine. Jayco Eagle 39' 9" over 10k.

  • The end of sway....

Used blue ox before this and while it was good, it was also fussy. On my 30 ft Airstream at full interstate speed on windy days and 18 wheelers all around, there was challenging sway. ProPride is a expensive product if it does not end sway. However, it does end sway snd is easy to use. Money well spent when living riveted. Protecting one’s property and ones life is worth the investment. Thank You to the ProPride team and especially Brent.

  • First ride...

Today I had the chance to take the trailer for a ride for the first time after installation. And my first comment is... WOW!!! Really, I don’t know if it was my imagination, but I found it different from the very first turn, even at slow speed. Then I went to a highway nearby, and really the difference is remarkable, I went all the way up to 70 and no problems whatsoever, stable as a rock. If I have to define it, I’d say that normally with the trailer you feel some little “tucking” in the back, when turning, when there’s some uneven road, things like that. It’s more of a sensation that a real push, at least in normal conditions, I have never had any trouble driving with a trailer but the sensation is there. With the 3P that sensation is gone, there’s no tucking, when you turn you just turn and there’s nothing influencing it. I will need of course much more time driving to formulate a better understanding, but even this little trip was enough to exceed my expectations.

I’m so satisfied that I felt I have to write about it...
