"I wanted to wait until I had a few tows in before I wrote a review. First off this hitch does exactly what it is advertised to do. I am not a novice to towing I have owned 5 trailers before this setup all with the same issues of varying degree with what I call trailer wobble especially when trucks pass by. I have a 2018 Ram Cummins 2500 and a 2019 Jayco 28BHS. The trailer weighs in around 8500lbs with 1000 lbs of tongue weight. I moved to the ProPride from the Reese straight line with this truck and trailer which to it’s credit worked but the metal where the cam arms bolt stretched allowing slop and sway. Now to the ProPride... first off setup was a breeze. The hitch was on and rolling down the road in 2 hours time. I have also read stories about troubles hooking up.... for me hooking up is the easiest process I have ever had with a trailer. The towing experience is second to none.... no sway.... no noise... trailer follows you perfectly.... no problems with ProPride “bump”..... backing is unaffected... I won’t say that you don’t know the trailer is behind you I still feel it there is no eliminating the fact that you are pulling a 34’ 8500lbs billboard down the road, but at least with this hitch you are in complete control zero surprises trucks can pass all they want with no white knuckles. My family and I tow up and down the east coast and this has been the single best investment for towing I have made yet! Definitely worth the cost for the piece of mind."

Eliminate All Trailer Sway
With a friction based solution the pivot point is still on the hitch ball, that is where the problem starts. A friction based solution will only go into effect, at speed, when sway starts to happen. In cases where the force of the sway exceeds the friction coefficient, the trailer will start to sway.
In order to stop sway with friction you would have to apply enough friction to stop the trailer from pivoting.
In other words, the amount of friction necessary to stop the trailer from swaying would also prevent you from being able to take turns.
